***DOES NOT CONTAIN SPOILERS***
I recently watched Sleepwalking and I have mixed reviews about it.
Well first off, the bad part. I didn't think this stressed Annasophia's full acting potential, with few struggling scenes and barely any straightforward dialogue like her other movies. This could have been the actual story itself, not her acting.
The Good parts of this movie were that she did seem to fall into her character as she did in so many other of her movies, but this character seemed for some reason not the best for her. She seemed to be kinda a bitch the entire movie, but thats just scripting. Although she did do good with her single scenes where she was alone dealing with problems, but when she was interacting with the other actors, she seemed off. was it just me? Despite the fact that she is older, she did seem to have quite a bit of etchy dialogue but maybe its just the fact that I miss her in her earlier movies.
Final notes: the storyline itself was alright, but the actual directing and playout of this movie proved un-amusing at most parts. the biggest problem I had with this movie was the lack of buildup to alot of the storyline, knowing that you don't even see her father (the one who gets caught) until later in the story and there was no background information on how her mother or uncle grew up or anything, the whole base of the story was supposed to rely on assumptions which was not the best bet for this story. The ending however, could have been better. It was a bit suprising at the climax, but once the ending hit, it was almost like... too happy endingish. I won't spoil it but i was hoping that things would have turned out better. However, the smoking scene was completely unnecessary, and proves how dumb alot of the storyline was. Also the mood swing of Anna's character was very very very sudden, and did not seem to prove believeable or anything to that manner.
I give it *****
