a sequel to BtT would, yes i agree, mess up the original message, but when i first watched the movie i thought that leslie was going to reappear in terabithia at the end, which made me think that there could be a sequel set entirely in terabithia, where leslie comes back. maybe jess could go on a mission down the river to bring her back (a bit like when will turner has to go and get jack sparrow back in PotC3)...just a thought...
